Emma is a Registered Psychologist holding General Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) in conjunction with the Psychology Board of Australia (PBA). Emma has been working in the public/community sector since 2012 and established her private practice in 2017.
Emma has worked extensively with children, adolescents and their families as well as adults. Emma's area of interest is working with adolescent females, young adult females as well as women in the perinatal period. Emma has held a passion and interest in supporting women through the perinatal period and since the birth of her second son, Emma has felt drawn to move towards focussing her psychology work in the perinatal space.
Emma practices from genuine empathy and understanding to create a safe and warm environment and is passionate about facilitating awareness, change and growth. Emma’s hope is to empower people through their own self-understanding, self-care and self-acceptance. Emma believes that we can all benefit from a safe and supportive space to share our experiences and feelings, to learn and grow through life’s challenges and to feel heard.
Emma practices from an integrated approach incorporating methods of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Attachment based Therapy, as well as Acceptance and Commitment based therapy. Therapy is tailored to each individual specific to their presentation and needs. Emma believes that each individual is unique and therefore individualised treatment is important.
