Non-directive pregnancy counselling 

Psychological support and counselling referrals

We have a number of psychologists who are registered to provide psychological support and counselling under Medicare’s Non-directive pregnancy counselling item. This referral is for 3 sessions for any pregnancy related concerns and psychological support with pregnancy related concerns, adoption and termination support. It is available during pregnancy and up to 12 months postnatally.

This is a different referral to a GP Mental Health Care Treatment Plan, and requires psychologists to have undertaken training and registration with Medicare to be able to claim rebates under this referral. Hayley Groves.
