Anita (she/her) is the founder of Alba Psychology and a Registered Psychologist with 15 years’ experience supporting clients across a range of services.


‘Alba’ is the Scottish Gaelic word for Scotland reflecting the Scottish part of Anita’s heritage. She grew up in Zimbabwe and studied in South Africa, Scotland and Australia. Her life experience across countries increased her passion to ensure that diversity is considered and respected in her therapeutic model. Anita’s practice is trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming and LGBTQIA+ inclusive.

Anita has supported children, young people and adults within early intervention, forensic, disability, community, inpatient and private practice settings. She also completed a Master (MSc) in Applied Psychology for Children and Young People at Edinburgh University, Scotland. Anita can assist children (from age 6 years old), and adolescents with difficulties such as anger, low mood, anxiety, sleep, and conflict in relationships.


She has a collaborative approach to supporting adults manage a range of psychological difficulties including but not limited to stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, anger and low self-esteem. Anita particularly enjoys assisting autistic children and adults. She has observed an increasing number of adults receiving diagnoses of autism later in life and aims to empower them by providing tools and strategies to thrive in a neurotypical world.


Anita is trained in a number of therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Schema Therapy. She adapts her therapeutic model according to the needs of the client.
